CROWDCTRL
A FEW UPDATES
January always seems to be the busiest month. December kicks everyone to the couch with a quart of egg nog and holiday fun and then everyone throws it back into gear come January 2 to make up for the gained pounds and lost work.
In work news, I’ve taken on a bit of extra responsibility, a few additional projects, and will soon welcome yet another interaction designer to our team at Northtemple (and we’re still after another 10 or so). We’re also planning a little v2 action over there, with a bit of an updated look and maybe even some comments.
Don’t forget I’m actively (moreso than Crowd these days) updating over on Northtemple, with a recent rant on how to communicate your design to your customer. We’ve got over a dozen designers updating that site on a daily basis, so head over if you haven’t yet.
On the personal front, I’m making slow progress on a little side project I’ve got up a sleeve. I’ve set SXSW as a target date to have a beta up and running with some friends here and there. I’ve also got some Crowdctrl shirt designs I want to debut over there as well.
I’ve also got plans to update the Northtemple and Lynesfam backends with my custom Rails app I built for Crowd. And seeing as Crowd is a full 3 months old, of course I have a list of updates to the visual design I’m mulling.
Of course it doesn’t help my free time that I’ve read The Abs Diet and am now hooked on smoothies and nightly exercise. So while updates to this site are scarce lately, I’m dropping a few lbs and busy mixing up protein shakes and spending evenings at Gold’s Gym.
For this place, I’m hoping to find some time to review this stack of cd’s and mp3’s I’ve been enjoying, including an eclectic mix of the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, RJD2, Jay Z, and a new Nine Inch Nails live dvd to analyze come late February.
Anyway, a bit of an update. More substance soon.
