One of the best tracks on the mellow soundtrack for The Last Kiss is “Paperweight” by Joshua Radin and Schuyler Fisk. It is a sweet song featuring some light acoustic guitar and Radin and Schuyler’s voices detailing the last few quiet moments of a memorable night.

After some research, I realized Schuyler is also an actress, having starred alongside Jack Black and Collin Hanks in the “too close to my real family” Orange County, as well as a slew of other smaller movies and TV shows.

She’s been recording her debut album for over a year now, to be released who knows when on Universal. Her MySpace page is actually less of an eyesore than most, and has 4 other songs she’s recorded (still fairly rough), as well as a few videos of her performing this “Paperweight” track.

Her stuff reminds me of a more upbeat Mazzy Star or Cowboy Junkies… Maybe closer to a Blake Hazard or Jewel in music taste and sound.

I have to say I love what I hear. Can’t wait for this debut.
