CROWDCTRL

SPEAKING OF ADDICTION..

So there are a few reasons why I’ve been slack in posting lately.

The impending redesign of Crowd Control, my recent involvement as a community leader over in the 9rules Design Community, the development of my family blog/photosite, addictively checking my mint installation , the college bowl fest, and of course my full time gig here in Salt Lake as a Sr. Interactive Designer.

Speaking of which, we are hiring. If you’re a web designer with plenty of front-end XHTML/CSS skills, and have experience wearing the Business Analyst, Project/Program Manager, or Design Lead hats, and can work in SLC, contact me.

But anyway, none of those distractions (except for the job of course) is taking up as much time as my new PSP, specifically the PSP and EA’s MVP Baseball.

The thing takes down all barriers to playing video games, and the gaming experience is just as good as the PS2. The thing about the PS2 is, you need access to a unused TV in the house, you’re away from the Mrs. since she’s watching Gilmore Girls, so you’re anti-social, and you always have to block off time where you’re not needed around the house, the kids are asleep, and nothing else is nagging for your attention.

The PSP solves all that. The boot-up and shut-down is instantaneous, so it’s never a problem to start or stop playing. It leaves your game where you last played when you shut it down, so there’s virtually no overhead to getting on and playing a few mins. The screen is great, the gameplay is awesome, it even plays movies, and best of all I can play anywhere I want, even on the toilet. Ha!

So be forgiving for a bit while I get the family site finished, football out of my blood, and a bit more settled at the new job downtown and I’ll be back to full speed around here. And I’ll try to back off the PSP, but you have no promises—I’m fully addicted.
